Library Guide - Full-Time Academic Staff : The Libraries and Facilities

The Academy Library

The Academy Library is located on the Ground Floor of the Academy Block behind the Reception Desk and next to the Box Office. The Academy Library has two floors: the Ground Floor (G/F) and the Upper Ground Floor (UG/F). The print collection is housed in the main area of the G/F and the multimedia material can be found in the Audio Visual Area.

The Upper Ground is designed for private study and collaborative learning. There are 3 distinctive areas: 3 seminar rooms of different sizes, the Learning Commons and the Learning Resources Room.

 

Facilities in Academy Library

Learning Commons

The Learning Commons is intended for collaborative learning. There are movable tables and chairs which can be turned into various shapes to meet different study styles. It is also a venue for libraries activities, such as book talks.

 

Library Seminar Rooms

Each of the three Library Seminar Rooms is equipped with a video projector, a computer and AV equipment for the use of students and staff of the Academy. Booking can be made online via the Library Seminar Booking System

Learning Resources Room

The Learning Resources Room are equipped with study carrels, AV carrels, a printer and scanners, providing a spacious and versatile study space. It can be accessed from the Library during Library's opening hours and via a separate entrance when the Library is closed.

The Learning Resources Room is open until 11:30 pm every day. When the Academy Library is closed, please use the entrance on UG/F and access with your Academy ID/ Library Card.

Film and Television Library

The Film and Television Library, a compact branch library, is located on the 1/F of the Annex at the Bethanie Campus.

 

Facilities in F/TV Library

The Film and Television Library is small and compact, with the Collection Area and the separate "Learning Resources Area" which opens daily until 11:00 pm.  It is equipped with 5 PC workstations, 2 iMacs, 2 blu-ray players, one scanner and one multi-function photocopier.

Music Library

The Music Library, a closed stack library, houses collections of performance scores, including the unique Ernest Read Orchestral Collection.

Materials housed in the Music Library are searchable on the Library System Primo@Lib. They can be retrieved by refining the search results to "Music Library".

Staff and students can place request for the materials for viewing and check-out.
