Library Guide - Undergraduate Students and Post-secondary Programme Students: Getting Started

Primo@Lib & My Library Record

Primo@Lib provides a one-step search platform for all physical, electronic and digital collection materials of the Library.

You can view your borrowing records, perform loan renewals and cancel holds / requests after signing in My Library Record in Primo@Lib. You will be prompted to enter the Academy email / Ref No. and password to login. You may refer to Primo@Lib user guide for more details.

User Privileges

Borrowing and Returning

You can borrow and return library items at the Circulation Counter during library opening hours or return to the Book Returns when the Libraries are closed.

Book Returns are located outside of the Academy Library and in the corridor outside the F/TV Library at the Bethanie Campus. Items returned to the Book Return will be recorded as if they are returned on the last Library opening date.

Loan Quota, Period and Fines

As Undergraduate Students and Post-secondary Programme Students, your borrowing privileges are as follow:

Library Notices

All library notices such as date due reminder notices, overdue notices, hold pick-up notices, are sent to the Academy email by default.

Inter-Campus transfer

You can place online request in Primo@Lib for inter-Campus Loans. That is you can request circulating items from the F/TV Library to be transferred to the Academy Library or from the Academy Library to be transferred to the F/TV Library. There is a quick guide to guide you through placing online request.

Inter-Library Loan (ILL) 

Inter-Library Loan service allows users to borrow books and obtain photocopy of journal articles that are not available in the Library. You may look up the required items in Other Library Catalogues under Quick Links of Primo@Lib. Complete the form below and return it to the Library.

Access to Other Libraries

Institutional Reader Cards are available for loan from the Circulation Counter for temporary access to other libraries. Undergraduate Students and Post-secondary Programme Students can visit the different libraries as shown in the Access to Other Libraries webpage.

User Support

IT Help

If you need help in the use of PC workstations, AV equipment, printing, scanning and mobile devices provided by the Library, please contact us at the Library Circulation Counters. Questions relating to online or mobile access to library catalogue, e-databases, e-books and e-journals are also welcome.

If you are at the Bethanie Campus, please direct the enquiry to duty staff at the F/TV Library during its opening hours.

Reference Service and Research Consultation

Reference services are provided by professional librarians and para-professional library staff by phone at 2584-8526, via email on weekdays or on WhatsApp at 2584-8524 on weekday afternoons. Research Consultation One-on-one assistance is offered to staff and students with specific information needs for research purpose.

Suggest a Purchase

If you cannot find what you want in the Library or if you come across any publications, audiovisual materials of e-Resources you find useful, you can suggest the Library to acquire by completing the online form.

Library Orientations & Workshops

Librarians conducted orientation programmes to familiarize new members with the resources, services and facilities available in the Library. Workshops on the use of research and reference tools, plagiarism prevention software and subject specific electronic resources were run at regular intervals. Information skills training sessions targeted to meet specific needs were also provided upon request.
